"Dr. Kevin J. McGovern, PT, CSCS has the one of the best understandings of throwing mechanics I have ever seen. He has single-handedly reinvented players who have been injured and helpless, as well as provided the solid building blocks for effortless arm action in young players just learning the game.
He helped me. I had a tear in my Ulna Collateral Ligament and Doctors wanted to perform Tommy John Surgery. After working with Kevin, I resumed my professional career as a catcher pain free!
I would advise any player who has the opportunity to spend time with Kevin to relearn one of the most incorrectly taught but most important and necessary fundamentals of baseball, throwing."

"I have spent nine years in professional baseball and played for three major league organizations.
Unfortunately, in the latter part of my career I was plagued with shoulder injuries causing me to have surgery for a torn labrum and rotator cuff. Throughout my rehab I worked with top doctors, PTs, and trainers from these professional organizations.
It wasn't until I met and worked with Dr. Kevin McGovern, PT, CSCS that I began to make significant strides forward in my rehabilitation. Kevin identified the true cause of my shoulder problem. The cause was poor muscle coordination of the muscles around my shoulder blade.
He then took my rehab to another level that I have never seen. He re-trained my mechanics. He showed me that the legs and the trunk are responsible for throwing a baseball. I was able to throw without pain. Although he did not play the game on a professional level, his biomechanical knowledge exceeds anyone I have worked with in my career. Had I met Kevin in my earlier playing days, I am convinced I would never have gotten injured and could be still playing today.
Kevin's techniques and philosophy on throwing is a MUST for every overhead throwing athlete whether you are injured or more importantly, do not want to be injured. "

"As a catcher at Suffolk University, I injured my shoulder as a junior. I threw in constant pain for the rest of the year. I saw Doctors who referred me for Physical Therapy. I had two different stints with Physical Therapists who work with baseball players. Neither time worked. My shoulder got so bad that I was not able to catch a lot as a Senior.
After my Senior year I was unable to throw. My shoulder would hurt just throwing 40 feet to Little Leaguer's. I thought my baseball career was over.
A friend of mine referred me to Dr. Kevin J. McGovern, PT, CSCS. He examined me and pointed out weakness and poor coordination of the muscles of my shoulder blade area.
We began working on that shoulder blade area with specific exercises at the first visit. On the second and third visits we worked on changing my mechanics. On the fourth visit I played catch from 60 feet without pain!
Each visit I threw harder and harder without pain and without pain the next day! It was unbelievable.
I am writing this testimonial today after throwing 50 balls 130 feet on a rope without pain!
I suggest anyone that has an arm injury or does not want one see Kevin. He will fix you!
He has shown me the bio-mechanics of what it truly means to "throw downhill" and you're "your lower body". These are resounding commands I heard for years. Kevin showed me exactly what these meant on a bio-mechanical platform. Kevin got me throwing pain free after battling pain for 18 months. Unbelievable Results! "
